€10: Authenticity Signs
13 Jan, in Frankfurt, the ECB presented the €10 banknote of the new Europa series. Eurozone central banks are expected to provide in April 2014 law enforcers, commercial banks and financial institutions with information on the new banknote's issue and security features. Alongside, the new €10 will reach manufacturers and cash handling equipment developers, so that by the official banknote introduction date, 23 Sep 2014, all the banking equipment would have been adopted to accepting the enhanced ECB notes.

Modified Ruble Series of Transnistrian Moldovan Republic
The Central Bank of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (TMR) has introduced renewed banknotes into cash circulation – a 2012 modification of 2007 denominated 10, 25, 50, 100 rubles and of 2004 denominated 200 rubles. Early 2013 introduced 1-ruble banknotes. According to official TMR information, the remaining denominations (5 and 500 rubles) will enter circulation in mid-2014.

CBR Currency Analysis Service Reporting...
In H2 2013, many Russian banks began seizing from their ATMs counterfeit banknotes, especially the 5,000-ruble denomination. Detected among them were fakes with quality forgery of both public features and UV/IR security. From its 2nd issue on, “Banknotes of the World” will monthly publish information by the CBR Currency Analysis Service on ATM-seized fakes.
